Aston Villa's owner has denied claims Jordan Amavi's move to Sevilla collapsed because of a failed medical.

The French left-back had been [expected to complete a switch to Spain over the weekend](http://birminghameastside.com/2017/07/08/jordan-amavi-set-for-medical-ahead-of-switch-to-sevilla-from-aston-villa/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk).

But [reports from Europe have now said the deal is off](http://birminghameastside.com/2017/07/10/reports-claim-aston-villa-defender-jordan-amavis-transfer-to-sevilla-could-be-off/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk).

However, Dr Tony Xia has said internal politics at Sevilla's end had caused the move to collapse.
