With only 7 days left until Christmas, the Choir at Birmingham Cathedral has a very busy time ahead. They will be performing at the **BBC WM Carol Service** next Monday, twice on Christmas Eve, as well as on Christmas day.

The festive season started early this year for the 51 members of the choir, with a tour in Leipzig, Germany. Canon **Marcus Huxley**, the Choir Director, has told Birmingham Eastside about the Leipzig tour:

> “They were very welcoming. Naumburg Cathedral, was a very atmospheric and picturesque medieval monastery, again with a wonderful acoustic. We gave a charity concert there to a packed audience, who were very appreciative.”

They had two concerts in **Thomas Kirche**, where Bach used to play the organ for almost 30 years and where he is also buried. The photo attached to the sample of the choir’s music has been taken at this church.

The tour was organised from 23 to 27 October.

The Choir made up of men’s voices, boys’ voices and girls’ voices, tours abroad every other year, if financially possible. Last time they had such a tour was in 2013, in France, where they sang in the famous Notre Dame Cathedral.
