A number of arrests were made overnight by West Midlands Police after a car cruising event went wrong.
It took place just a week after an injunction banning car cruising was extended to 2021 by a High Court. Since 2015, 17 people have been charged with breaching the injunction in the Wolverhampton area alone.The prohibited activities include:
Driving at excessive speeds
Driving in convoys
Racing
Performing stunts
Playing radios and horns
Obstructing other road users and public highways
Antisocial behaviour, including swearing and shouting
Traffic police have taken to Twitter to warn users about the dangers of car cruising and racing.
