Families have been joining other protestors in Birmingham to demand the government take urgent action on the climate crisis as part of a worldwide series of climate strikes.

Birmingham Eastside spoke to a number of those taking part, including the Carter Family who travelled into Birmingham City Centre from Dorridge.

“It is essential for all generations to come together, to protect the future,” said **Claire Carter**, adding: “Affluent countries all need to work together.”

Another family who came to protest together was the Carmichaels from Sparkhill.

**Alison Carmichael** said that the day was important as it was “essential to make our feelings known together, that there won’t be a future and that time is running out to make a difference.”
