Goals from Leon Bailey, Lucas Digne and Jacob Ramsey helped them pick up the win against the Red Devils.

It marked a dream start for new boss Unai Emery, but he has insisted he wants to ensure his side can provide more of the same going forward.

“I enjoyed it a lot today," he told [the club website](https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2022/november/06/emery--we-took-the-first-step-v-man-utd/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk). "We were so focussed on our game plan.

“It’s only one step and we have to achieve regularity and we have to achieve being consistent in the next matches – at home and away.

“We have a lot of work to do.”

Villa's next test will also be against Manchester United as they travel to Old Trafford in the League Cup on Thursday.
