A Handsworth man has been charged with human trafficking.
Mihai Varga, 39 and from Ashwin Road, was also charged with a gangmaster offence after an operation by West Midlands Police and the National Crime Agency.
The arrest came after raids on properties in Winson Green, Handsworth, Great Barr, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton.
Three other people - two men aged 18 and 33 and a 38-year-old woman - have been released pending further investigation.
Varga appeared before Birmingham magistrates yesterday morning (September 7th). He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on October 5th.
