Passengers travelling by train in Birmingham are facing more disruption despite strikes being called off.

West Midlands Railway confirmed it would operate a reduced timetable today (7th November), although some services were being partially reinstated.

The train operator said the announcement on Friday by the RMT union that strikes would be suspended meant there had not been time to rearrange train movements and staffing rosters.

Jonny Wiseman, West Midlands Railway customer experience director, said: “I welcome the news that the industrial action has been suspended.

"The announcement came late on Friday which was unfortunately too late to reinstate a full service on Saturday and today.

“Due to planning processes being complex, we are not able to simply switch back to an original weekday plany.

"West Midlands Railway and Network Rail colleagues have worked over the weekend to enable us to reinstate four additional services tomorrow.

"Updates to the level of service we can operate on Wednesday will be added to the website as soon as they are available.”

Routes with a limited service on Monday include:

But where trains are running, passengers are advised that the last services today will be at 7pm.
