A new job and community website for working dads has been launched to cater to an increasing **demand for flexibility** by employees, according to research by the site founder.

[Workingdads.co.uk](https://www.workingdads.co.uk/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk) was founded by a **Birmingham** university graduate, **Gillian Nissim**, who launched [workingmums.co.uk](https://www.workingmums.co.uk/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk) in 2006.

She said:

> "When I launched Workingmums.co.uk 12 years ago the appetite for flexible new roles was coming almost exclusively from women. That has changed.
>
> Our research shows that dads want more time with their children, more equal parenting and employers who acknowledge that."

The site connects users to employers who offer more flexible working.

"dads want more time with their children, more equal parenting and employers who acknowledge that" said Gillian Nissim.

## "Interviewers would question what my wife was doing"

[Blogger](https://www.workingmums.co.uk/working-families-get-right/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk) and working father, **Richard Cahil**, supports the new site having experienced the lack of flexibility for working fathers himself. He said:

> "I struggled against some really backward attitudes towards men working flexibly. Interviewers would question what my wife was doing and why it had to be me picking up the children from school!"

**Han-Son Lee**, founder of [DaddiLife](https://www.daddilife.com/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk) said:

> "The results of our recent Dad Index showed that 87% of Millennial dads are actively involved in day-to-day parenting, and yet one of the areas we hear a lot about in the community is the lack of real flexibility in their working environment."

The site have said they hope to form a **community** for fathers to gain advice and stay connected to ongoing debates around **flexible work**.
