Defender Jan Bednarek has left Aston Villa after his loan was terminated by Southampton.

The Polish centre back joined under previous manager Steven Gerrard, but made just five appearances for the club.

His departure is the latest to be announced since the arrival of new boss Unai Emery, with Frederic Guilbert joining Strasbourg and Cameron Archer heading out loan to Middlesbrough.

Reports in France, meanwhile, suggest midfielder Morgan Sanson could also be heading back to his homeland on a loan deal with Strasbourg.
