A person in a silver car was spotted cruising down College Road mugging students walking home alone.

On Friday 17th November **Hamstead Hall Academy** sent letter to parents informing them of the muggings happening on College Road and to pick their children up until the matter is resolved.

A spokesperson from the school said that it’s a matter outside of school and is being led by the police, however the school has senior teachers waiting outside gates and occasionally patrol the area around the local community.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police has said:

> *“Officers will be conducting patrols in the area and working with local schools to provide reassurance.”*

A youth has been arrested and has been released pending further enquiries.
