A Birmingham museum encourages people to get active this month and join the [#RunOfTheMill21 challenge](https://www.birminghammuseums.org.uk/sarehole/whats-on/virtual-fun-run-run-of-the-mill-21?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk).

[Sarehole Mill museum ](https://www.birminghammuseums.org.uk/sarehole?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk)comes back with the big virtual event of completing 21 km to promote staying physically active this January.

The 21km distance does not have to be completed in one go and participants can walk or run

Whether it is a brisk walk or fast run, everyone can sign-up for the challenge, which does not have to be completed in one go.

Each participant is asked to publish their pictures of completing the challenge at Museum Twitter account and tag [**@Sarehole\_Mill**](https://twitter.com/Sarehole%5FMill?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk) in it. For those who successfully finish #RunOfTheMill21, there are medals provided at the finish line.

The campaign motivates people to stay physically active, and also helps raises funds for the work of Birmingham Museums*.*

The museums in Birmingham take care of all historic venues and collection of more than 1 million objects that *"tell the story of Birmingham and its people and work closely with communities."*

To take part in the challenge participants must pay £10 entry fee.

[The Sarehole Mill](https://www.birminghammuseums.org.uk/sarehole/about?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk) is 250 -year-old watermill, and it is well known by *"its association with author J.R.R Tolkien"* who lived across the road.

As the challenge ends up at the end of January, there is still time to [sign up for the #RunOfTheMill21](https://tickets.birminghammuseums.org.uk/WebStore/shop/viewItems.aspx?CG=ROTM&C=ROTM&ref=birminghameastside.co.uk) to put on your running shoes and support [Birmingham Museums](https://www.birminghammuseums.org.uk/?ref=birminghameastside.co.uk).
