John McGinn's wonder goal for Aston Villa in their defeat against Sheffield Wednesday shows why he has become a crowd favourite, according to Steve Bruce.
The Scottish midfielder unleashed a sublime volley to pull Villa level after Marco Matias' opener, only for the Owls to seal the points with a Steven Fletcher header.
Villa boss Bruce said he was disappointed McGinn's goal had not been enough to earn a point for his side.
"It's a fantastic strike from John," Bruce told the Aston Villa website. "You can see why he's turned into a crowd favourite so quickly.
"It's a shame we haven't got anything out of the game that he can celebrate it with."
